The super yacht "A" sails into Santa Barbara harbor this morning (82910). This German-built, €150M luxury yacht opened up both stern compartments and let out speedboat tenders. "A" is owned by Andrey Melnichenko, a Russian energy billionaire and financier. She's over 118 meters long and sports three swimming pools!

The left picture is an excellent example of the drastic approach 60’s fashion took from the plain and basic look of the 50’s male from looking “like soldiers” as they headed off to work in their almost identical suits to experimentations of all kinds (LIFE: The ‘50s 1998).

So why a picture of these two disparate recorders? One weighs 12 pounds with batteries and the other only a few ounces. One has 2008 technology and the other 1980's technology. Both record well but one better than the other. Both are 'nice' but one is nicer than the other. In my world, my locations do not have a 103dB signal noise to ratio so it is only a number like '24 bit'.
