So why a picture of these two disparate recorders? One weighs 12 pounds with batteries and the other only a few ounces. One has 2008 technology and the other 1980's technology. Both record well but one better than the other. Both are 'nice' but one is nicer than the other. In my world, my locations do not have a 103dB signal noise to ratio so it is only a number like '24 bit'.

Every year boats anchored in "Fool's Harbor" are driven onto the beach during California's winter storms. Here are just three boats that have been shipwrecked on our beach
