The beautiful Filmo 75 is a 16mm movie camera, produced in Chicago beginning in 1928. It was intended for amateur use, but the quality of its construction makes it easy to see why Bell & Howell cameras were the tools of choice for Hollywood studios in the early days of motion pictures.
Although rather heavy by today's standards, the 75 was quite compact for its time, and was marketed as a ladies' camera. Its ornate leather covering was available in Walnut Brown, Ebony Black, and Silver Birch (seen here).
Truly a work of art.
This shot was taken from a book called "Photography's Beginnings - A Visual History" Featuring the collection of WM. B. Becker 1989 Oakland University.
Original photo was taken in year 1880.
This shot shows dresses bangals and necklaces that wore in that period in Sri Lanka (known as Ceylon at that time). Look at the number of necklaces worn by those women.

We put both rainbow trout on the Weber BBQ and then spread a Greek-style olive oil, melted butter, garlic, onions, cilantro and spices mixture on the cooked fish, then de-boned it by ripping out the head-spine-tail in one fell swoop. Delicious! Ate it while watching the Yanks vs. Phils World Series Game 2.

Cover creation from Peter Belanger on Vimeo.
After working on the latest cover for Macworld Magazine I wanted to show what is involved in making a cover. I focused on the three main areas: the photography, photoshop and design. I chose a time lapse format to convey lots of information in a small amount of time. The only drawback of time lapse is that since half a day goes by in 30 seconds, the whole process seam so easy! Lots of details were left out of the design process (like the cover meetings and rounds of layout options). I began to photograph the design process after the layouts had already been narrowed down to just three cover designs.
On the technical side, for the time lapse video, I used the Canon 5D Mark II with a 24mm-70mm zoom. I chose the 5D because of its great image quality with high ISO's. Canon's sRAW1 gave me the flexibility of a RAW file with the file size of a jpeg. The actual Macworld cover was taken with a Phase One P65+ digital back attached to a 4x5 Sinar X camera with a 65mm lens.
Many thanks to Rob Schultz for allowing me to invade his office and literally shoot over his shoulder.

This is a combination of Photomanipulation and Digital painting done in Photoshop with a Wacom Graphic Tablet.
I was watching some children play outside the other day and they were just leaping and jumping all around for the joy of just freeing their bodies and moving. I can remember when I was 4 or 5 and I would just sprint down the block or do jumping jacks for no other reason except that I was filled with energy and felt happy to just be alive. I don't jump so often now, but this is a good reminder to never forget to just jump a little bit now and then, no matter how old you are
